I am having the same issue too. Specs are: MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019), macOS Catalina, 10.15.6. Created a new project in Xcode version 12.0, chose IOS app, and SwiftUI. After running simulator, my on-going music got distorted; Cracking and loud noise! Please have it addressed very soon. This is annoying.
It's not the computer model that determines support, but the OS version it is running. MacOS 10.15 Catalina supports Xcode 12.4, but I don't know wether you can still get that version or not. See here: link- https://developer.ap. Yes, you can run Xcode 12 with the current macOS, Catalina. It will work perfectly, although you can update to the developer beta of Big Sur. Yes, it supports Catalina. I recommend using the latest Big Sur beta, however, so that you can update your app to support the latest technologies.
